What apps does the Apex work with?
The Apex is not limited to one specific application and will work with any touch app on your iPad. For a list of recommended note-taking apps, please visit this link.
Will the Apex work with the Notes app on my iOS device?
No. The “Notes” application which is standard on iOS devices is designed for typing only and cannot be used for handwritten notes.
What devices does the Apex work with?
The Apex was designed to work with all iPads including the iPad 2/3/4, iPad Air, and iPad Mini. It also works on several popular Android devices.
Since all touchscreen inputs are different, you will see a difference in performance on tablets and touchscreens that are not an iPad. If you do not plan to use the Apex with an iPad or popular Android device, we recommend trying one of our passive styluses such as the TruGlide Duo, Clip, Pro, or Tether instead.
Why doesn’t my Apex work as well on my iPhone 5?
The Apex was specifically designed for use with iPads. Apple’s touchscreen interface varies from device to device, so you may see a difference in response on the iPhone 5 in comparison to your iPad.
Why is there a lag time on my iPad 2?
The iPad 2 has a somewhat slower processor than the iPad 3/4 and iPad Air, so if you are running a software application that needs a fast processor, you will see a lag time when using any stylus. This lag time is not present with the faster processors on the newer iPad models.
Does the Apex have Bluetooth?
The Apex does not require Bluetooth or any special software or connections to function. You can simply pick up the stylus, turn it on, and begin using it on your favorite apps!
Is the Apex pressure sensitive?
The Apex was not designed with a built-in pressure sensing feature but rather was designed to function like a traditional pen on paper. You can change the size of the lines from thick to thin within the handwriting application you are using.
Does the Apex have palm rejection?
The Apex does not have a built-in palm rejection feature. Palm rejection is typically built into the software application, so it can be enabled and disabled within the app itself.
Why do I see a jagged line when writing slowly on the diagonal?
Actually, this is not a malfunction of the stylus. This happens to be a case where the hardware (stylus) has evolved further than the software (application). The jagged line that occurs when slowly drawing diagonal lines on touchscreens is common in all active styluses currently on the market. This is because touchscreens are laid out in a grid, and since our fine point is smaller than the grid squares, the software needs to calculate the position of the stylus correctly.
When writing straight lines up, down, and across, the software correctly displays the position of the stylus. When making diagonal lines at normal drawing speeds, the software calculates the position and “smooths” the movement of the stylus along the jagged diagonal of the grid into a smooth line.
However, if you draw very slow diagonal lines across the grid, the software traces along the boxy grid lines and delivers a jagged line as the output.
Some note-taking applications have already started integration of smoothing algorithms that are designed to straighten the diagonal lines when drawing slowly. As the hardware and software continue to mature, this will not be an issue at all anymore.
My Apex doesn't seem to be working correctly. What do I do?
If your Apex is skipping, jumping, or not registering on your screen, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Confirm the rubber nib is firmly seated over the electrode of the stylus. If the nib is even a little loose, it will cause jumping or skipping issue on the iPad Air.
2. Confirm your screen is clean. We have found that screens with a buildup of oil smudges can cause issues.
3. Confirm that you do not need to replace the battery. If the power level of the battery is too low, the performance of the stylus will begin to degrade quickly.
4. Replace your nib when necessary. Please understand the Apex only requires light pressure on your touchscreen to work correctly. If the Apex is pressed too hard against the screen the nib will wear quickly. Once cracked or broken the nib must be replaced in order for our electronics to work correctly.
If these problems persist, please contact us at apex@lynktec.com or +1 (855) 558-5965 so that we can help you resolve the issue.

Yes. The TruGlide is compatible with all versions of the iPad, including the iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad Mini, and iPad Air.
Does the TruGlide work with screen protectors?
Yes. Depending on the thickness of the screen protector, you may see a decrease in the functionality of the stylus. This is true of any stylus on the market since the screen protector puts a thin layer between the stylus and your touchscreen device which could interfere with the conductivity of the stylus.
Can the TruGlide Stylus be used in any drawing application?
Yes. The TruGlide Stylus functions even better and more precisely than your finger when drawing on your iPad or other touchscreen device.
Do you sell replacement tips for the TruGlide?
We offer a one-year limited warranty on our TruGlide Stylus, including the tips. Since the TruGlide’s patented conductive fiber tip is more durable than rubber, we do not find it necessary to offer replacement tips for most products.
Will the TruGlide tip scratch my screen?
No. The TruGlide is constructed of patented conductive microfibers that feel like silk and are designed to glide across your screen, not scratch it. In fact, one strand is 10x finer than silk and 100x smaller than a fine strand of cotton fiber.
Why is TruGlide the best?
Relative to a rubber tipped stylus, the TruGlide tip is much firmer, mimicking a fingertip, but with greater accuracy, needing less resistance on a touchscreen. The conductive fiber tip is designed to glide across the screen, without the skipping that takes place with a rubber tip. The woven fiber is also 10 times more durable than the rubber tip, lasting through lots of regular use. In fact, we are so confident in our product that it comes with a one-year limited warranty.
